Venmar CES Inc. is seeking a CAD Technologist to work in the Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible to the R&D/Engineering Manager for the provision of technical support and services in the areas of: creating of CNC punch and brake press programs, refining and optimizing CNC programs and parts drawings, Kanban process maintenance, creation of punch work orders and metal parts requests, working in a multi-disciplinary team for the design and modification of ventilation and energy recovery systems.
Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Completion of a two to three year college program in engineering design and drafting technology, or a related field
- Of AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, Inventor and Microsoft Office is required
- Of a wide variety of computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment
- Of Material Requirement Planner (MRP) systems and manufacturing processes
Experience:
- One to two years of related work experience is required, including hands on mechanical experience
- Experience working in an HVAC manufacturing environment or in the sheet metal manufacturing industry is an asset
Experience:
- Effective communication and organizational skills, and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to operate and manage multiple software programs simultaneously and efficiently
- Ability to work in a team environment, with minimal supervision
- Prefer applicant be eligible for registration with SASTT (Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians) as an Associate or Registered Member

- HVAC/R&D Engineer

As an HVAC Design/R&D Engineer you would be responsible for researching, designing and developing new and innovative ventilation and energy recovery systems, and for investigating and implementing new technologies. You would design custom products to satisfy customer requests and conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of components and systems.
As the ideal candidate, you possess the following:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Two or more years experience, preferably in an HVAC environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Inventor would be considered an asset
- Previous working knowledge of an MRP or ERP system would be considered an asset
- Self-motivated, capable of working on multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated communication, organizational, problem-solving and time management skills
